Senior Installation/Commissioning Engineer
Perform Audio, Video, networking, and Control installation functions, rack building and system interconnect wiring as required to support the delivery of audio visual systems. It is a hands-on position which requires the employee to install audio and video equipment, including wall mounting & ceiling mounting equipment, 1st fix cable installation, complete wiring and cable terminations, commissioning and programming of systems. Work in collaboration with the Project Manager to ensure that the contracted scopes of work are performed to the highest possible standards of quality and conform to defined performance requirements. Oversee a team of installation engineers to ensure system designs are correctly implemented & that Health & Safety Policy is adhered to. Primarily based in the East Yorkshire region, but installations will be carried out throughout the UK, and possibly Europe. You will have overall responsibility for the delivery of major commercial & residential Audio Visual installations, in a timely, efficient manner & to the clients satisfaction.
- Work as a hands-on site installer/commissioner. Wire, test, commission, and document custom system installations.
- Take full responsibility for the project’s programming requirements to ensure that all system programming is completed in a timely, efficient manner and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Ensure that projects are completed in a timely, efficient manner and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Supervise on-site staff and subcontract installation labor teams.
- Work with the Site Supervisor, Project Manager, Installation Engineers, and/or Programmers to effectively and accurately complete all phases of the installation per a defined schedule.
- Significant travel and extended out of town stays are required in this position.
- Perform project paperwork such as daily and weekly status reports. Ensure that site paperwork such as timesheets and expenses reports are submitted in a timely fashion.
- Perform other activities and responsibilities as directed by the immediate manager.
- Able to read Audio, Visual, networking & Control technical specifications and system drawings.
- Ability to successfully commission all aspects of an Audio Visual installation.
- Able to install and wire systems to Nuway exacting standards.
- Experience with audio DSP device programming.
- Experience with commissioning Video Conferencing Systems (Polycom, Lifesize, Tandberg).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interface well with clients and co-workers and to supervise teams of installation engineers.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault finding skills, the book stops here.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient with computers and standard office programs (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) Minimum.
- Proficiency in programming Audio Visual & environmental control equipment (e.g. AMX, Crestron, Lutron, Extron, Bose, Soundweb, and others). desirable but not essential.
- Minimum three years of professional hands-on installation experience in the audio visual industry.
- Hands-on fabrication experience.
- Hands on Networking experience.
- Experience with and knowledge of current products and trends in audio, video, control or video conferencing sectors.
- A proven track record of successful major installation projects.
